This is a donation of 18 Sexual and Reproductive Health and Misoprostol kits including: 4 male condom kits (IARH KIT 1A); 2 Rape Clinical Management Kit (IARH KIT 3); 4 oral and injectable contraceptive kits (IARH KIT 4); 2 sexually transmitted infection kits (IARH KIT 5); 2 individual safe delivery kits for pregnant women (IARH KIT 6A); 2 safe delivery kits for midwives and health staff (IARH KIT 6B); 2 Obstetric surgery and severe obstetric complications kits: disposable drugs and equipment (IARH KIT 11B); and 749 boxes (2 tablets x box) of Misoprostol 200mcg, as part of the Minimum Initial Service Package for Reproductive Health (MISP) in emergency situations.

 

The quantities of each kit correspond to the potential needs of between 10,000 and 30,000 inhabitants. The supplies and medicines have been distributed in five public and private health establishments in the city of Bata: ''Maternity Service of the Bata Regional Hospital'', ''PF Health Centres'', ''La Libertad'', ''Maria Gay'' and ''Maria Rafols'', in order to strengthen the care of women, adolescents and girls in the area of health, among others.

The recent delivery of material to the government, "justifies UNFPA's commitment after the events of 7M in Bata, to continue collaborating with the Government of Equatorial Guinea through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Gender Equality, in response to the damage suffered by families due to the explosions produced in the military barracks of the special forces of Nkoantoma; through the project: 'Improving access to protection services for the affected population to recover from the explosions in Bata', and with this new delivery, we continue contributing to put an end to this specific situation, concluded, the assistant representative who represented UNFPA at the said ceremony.
